Smile Pro Treatment
Professor Dan Reinstein has played a pioneering role in the development of SMILE Pro laser eye surgery, helping advance one of the most significant innovations in modern refractive surgery. Working closely with ZEISS, he contributed to the refinement of Small Incision Lenticule Extraction (SMILE) and the development of the VISUMAX 800 laser platform, which delivers precise, minimally invasive vision correction without creating a traditional LASIK flap. His research has helped improve surgical techniques, treatment planning and the understanding of corneal biomechanics.
Professor Reinstein’s extensive work in corneal imaging, including high-frequency ultrasound and epithelial mapping, has also helped establish more personalised approaches to refractive surgery. As the founder of London Vision Clinic, now part of the EuroEyes Group, he continues to contribute his expertise to the advancement of laser vision correction. His involvement in SMILE Pro research and innovation reflects EuroEyes London’s commitment to combining advanced surgical technology with clinical experience and individualised patient care.

Dr Glenn Carp is a highly respected ophthalmic surgeon, registered on the General Medical Council’s (GMC) Specialist Register. He is also a Fellow of the College of Surgeons in Ophthalmology in South Africa and maintains professional affiliations with leading medical and ophthalmic organisations, reflecting his commitment to clinical excellence and the highest standards of patient care.
The Patient Experience
Having experienced laser eye surgery himself, Dr Carp brings a personal understanding to every patient consultation. He underwent LASIK with Professor Dan Reinstein in 2007, followed by further vision correction in 2019 to address age-related changes in his reading vision. His own journey gives him a valuable perspective on the concerns, expectations and life-changing benefits of refractive surgery.
