Pioneering vision correction and refractive surgery now available in Switzerland.
On 20 November 2025, EuroEyes officially opened its new clinic in Zürich. The launch event marked an exciting milestone for the expansion of the EuroEyes Group into Switzerland, bringing cutting-edge refractive surgery and lens-based eye care to patients across the country.
A New Chapter for EuroEyes Switzerland
Following a warm welcome from Dr. Jørn S. Jørgensen, founder and CEO of the EuroEyes Clinic Group, guests were given an inside look into EuroEyes’ vision for Switzerland. With seven new clinics opening nationwide, EuroEyes is setting a new standard for advanced SMILE laser surgery, ICL implantation, presbyopia and cataract treatment in the region. This expansion brings decades of international expertise to Swiss patients seeking permanent freedom from glasses and contact lenses.
Celebrity Guests Share Their EuroEyes Experience
Two well-known personalities took the stage as “eye witnesses,” sharing their personal stories after undergoing vision correction at EuroEyes:
- Thomas Gottschalk – German entertainer and TV host
- Daniel Grieder – CEO of Hugo Boss
Both now enjoy complete visual independence; clear sight for reading and distance without the need for glasses.
Innovation Spotlight: The Light Adjustable Lens (LAL)
In the scientific segment, Prof. Michael Knorz, Medical Director of EuroEyes, presented the revolutionary Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) a first for Swiss ophthalmology. This breakthrough technology allows surgeons to fine-tune the lens after implantation, achieving precise, individualised vision correction for cataract and presbyopia patients. Currently, EuroEyes is the exclusive provider of LAL technology in Switzerland.

Recognition from ZEISS
A highlight of the event came when Michael Achtelik, Key Account Manager at Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, presented Dr. Jørgensen with a special award recognising EuroEyes as the world leader in trifocal lens implantations. This distinction reflects EuroEyes’ unmatched expertise and longstanding partnership with ZEISS in advancing vision correction technology.
A Celebration of Vision and Innovation
The evening concluded with a relaxed reception, fine Swiss wine, and a light buffet. Guests, partners, and colleagues from around the world shared their excitement for EuroEyes’ next chapter, celebrating innovation, precision, and a shared vision for the future of eye care in Switzerland.
