Zurich, 20 November 2025 – On 20 November 2025, EuroEyes celebrated the official opening of EuroEyes Switzerland with a high-profile event in Zurich. As part of a press conference and exclusive reception, the internationally active clinic group welcomed media representatives, partners, and invited guests from the worlds of business and medicine.
Dr. Jørgensen, Founder and CEO of the EuroEyes Clinic Group, opened the event and shared his vision for the future of EuroEyes in Switzerland. With the launch of seven locations, EuroEyes is now establishing state-of-the-art refractive surgery and ophthalmic care within the Swiss healthcare market. The clinic group brings decades of expertise in areas including SMILE laser eye surgery, ICL implantation, and the treatment of presbyopia and cataracts.
A special highlight of the programme was the testimonials from prominent patients. Entertainer and television presenter Thomas Gottschalk, alongside Daniel Grieder, CEO of Hugo Boss, shared their personal experiences as “eyewitnesses” of EuroEyes treatments. Both spoke about the improvement in quality of life achieved through living without glasses, both in everyday life and when reading.
In the medical and scientific segment, Prof. Michael Knorz, Medical Director of the EuroEyes Clinic Group, presented the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL). This innovative intraocular lens allows for highly precise and individual correction of cataracts and presbyopia, as visual acuity can be fine-tuned even after surgery. In Switzerland, this treatment is currently available exclusively at EuroEyes.
Another highlight of the evening was the presentation of an award to Dr. Jørgensen by Carl Zeiss Meditec AG. Michael Achtelik, Key Account Manager, presented the award in recognition of EuroEyes having performed the highest number of trifocal lens implantations worldwide.
The event concluded with a culinary reception and Swiss wine in a relaxed atmosphere, offering guests the opportunity for personal exchange and networking. The successful opening event underlined EuroEyes’ ambition to set new standards in modern eye care in Switzerland.
